Civic Sphere is a mobility and public transportation technology consulting firm. Mobility systems are built iteratively, adding tweaks and new initiatives over the years that contribute to major improvements. Civic Sphere helps transit operators, multi-modal transportation planners, and mobility professionals take on new initiatives that involve complex decision-making processes and require deep technical knowledge -- supporting the client's vision for improving mobility through technology.
Janae Futrell, AICP, LEED AP, a city planner and architectural designer with 13 years of experience, is a specialist in mobility technology planning. Prior to starting Civic Sphere in 2017, she worked with the City of Atlanta as Senior Program Manager for Smart Cities and the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) overseeing work programs for the Regional Transit Committee and Human Services Transportation, which integrates disability, aging, and low income needs. In addition, she has worked with John Portman and Associates, the International Federation of the Red Cross, Caritas Germany, and the Earthquakes and Megacities Initiative.
