Client Question:
How can we combine our current data in novel ways to improve our understanding of the mobility system?
Civic Sphere worked with Cobb County (CC) in the Atlanta metro area, Georgia, USA in partnership with Kimley-Horn’s office in Atlanta in 2019. CC was interested in maximizing its use of currently available data to gain new insights into the mobility system in the areas of operations, analysis, and public-facing information.
The answer? After conducting multiple collaborative sessions with more than 20 interdisciplinary professionals from public safety, economic development, public health, and other backgrounds within CC, Civic Sphere produced the focus areas of interest to the County. Comparing these focus areas with the available data sets resulted in a list of potential “use cases” to pursue. From this list, the top use cases were selected and a roadmap provided that explained each use case, the data sets needed for it, and the requirements for a data platform to bring these data sets together for advanced analytics.
