Client Question:
How can we leverage newer technologies for fare payment to help reach our policy goals?
Civic Sphere worked with the National Center for Applied Transit Technology’s office in Washington D.C. in 2023, providing the “Tech-Enabled Transit Fare Policy” fact sheet to be added online to its Tech University platform during 2023/24.
The answer? The users follow the sections of the fact sheet, beginning with an overview of what fare policy is and how a public transport authority can reach its goals through fare policy. Then, users review the examples provided such as “fare capping”. Lastly, users can answer the questions provided in the final section titled, “Identify Tech-Enabled Fare Policies Relevant to Your Agency.”
